In particular, an objection to data processing for the purpose of direct marketing is permissible.
III. Information on data processing
Your data processed during the use of our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply, provided there are no statutory retention obligations opposing the deletion of the data, and no conflicting details regarding individual processing methods are provided below.
Server data
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted to us or our webspace provider by your internet browser. These so-called server log files collect, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the website(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is being used.
Data collected in this way is stored temporarily, but not together with any other data belonging to you.
This storage is based on the legal grounds of Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality, and security of our website.
The data will be deleted after seven days at the latest, provided that no further retention is necessary for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data are wholly or partially exempt from deletion until an incident has been finally resolved.
Cookies
a) Session cookies/session cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your device by the internet browser you use. These cookies process certain information about you to a specific extent, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the provision of a shopping cart function.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b.) GDPR, insofar as these cookies process data for contract initiation or contract processing.
If the processing does not serve to initiate or execute a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
b) Third-party cookies
Our website may also use cookies from partner companies with whom we cooperate for the purpose of advertising, analysis, or the functionalities of our website.
Please refer to the following information for details, in particular the purposes and legal basis for processing such third-party cookies.
c) Disposal option
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings of your internet browser. You can also delete cookies that have already been saved at any time. However, the necessary steps and measures for this depend on the specific internet browser you are using. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. In the case of so-called Flash cookies, however, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player for this purpose. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the specific Flash player you are using. If you have any questions regarding this, please also use the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support.
However, if you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may result in some or all of the functions of our website not being fully usable.
Customer account / registration function
If you create a customer account with us via our website, we will collect and store the data you entered during registration (e.g., your name, your address, or your email address) exclusively for pre-contractual services, for the fulfillment of the contract, or for the purpose of customer care (e.g., to provide you with an overview of your previous orders with us or to be able to offer you the so-called notepad function). At the same time, we will then store the IP address and the date of your registration along with the time. Of course, this data will not be passed on to third parties.
As part of the further registration process, your consent to this processing will be obtained and reference will be made to this privacy policy. The data collected by us in the process will be used exclusively for the provision of the customer account.
Insofar as you consent to this processing, Art. 6 (1) lit. a) GDPR is the legal basis for the processing.
If the opening of the customer account also serves pre-contractual measures or the performance of a contract, the legal basis for this processing is also Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
You can revoke the consent given to us for the opening and maintenance of the customer account at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do this, you simply need to notify us of your revocation.
The data collected in this regard will be deleted as soon as processing is no longer required. However, in doing so, we must observe retention periods under tax and commercial law.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our free newsletter, the data requested from you for this purpose—namely your e-mail address and—optionally—your name and address—will be transmitted to us. At the same time, we store the IP address of the internet connection from which you access our website, as well as the date and time of your registration. As part of the further registration process, we will obtain your consent to the sending of the newsletter, describe the content in detail, and refer to this privacy policy. We use the data collected in this context exclusively for sending the newsletter—therefore, in particular, it will not be passed on to third parties.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
You can revoke your consent to the sending of newsletters at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do this, you simply need to notify us of your revocation or click on the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.
Contact requests / Contact options
If you contact us via the contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your request. Providing this data is necessary to process and answer your request – without it, we cannot answer your request or can only do so to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
Your data will be deleted once your request has been conclusively answered and there are no statutory retention obligations preventing deletion, such as in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
User contributions, comments, and ratings
We offer you the opportunity to publish questions, answers, opinions, or reviews, hereinafter referred to simply as „contributions," on our websites. If you make use of this offer, we will process and publish your contribution, the date and time of submission, and the pseudonym you may have used.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR. To do so, you simply need to notify us of your revocation.
In addition, we also process your IP and email address. The IP address is processed because we have a legitimate interest in initiating or supporting further measures if your contribution infringes upon the rights of third parties and/or is otherwise unlawful.
The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in any necessary legal defense.
Subscription to posts
If you publish posts on our websites, we also offer you the option to subscribe to any subsequent posts by third parties. In order to be able to inform you about these subsequent posts by e-mail, we process your e-mail address.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent to this subscription at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7(3) GDPR. To do this, you simply need to notify us of your revocation or click the unsubscribe link contained in the respective email.
Online Job Applications / Publication of Job Advertisements
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us via our website. In the case of these digital applications, your applicant and application data are collected and processed electronically by us to process the application procedure.
The legal basis for this processing is Section 26, paragraph 1, sentence 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in conjunction with Article 88, paragraph 1 of the GDPR.
If an employment contract is concluded following the application process, we will store the data you submitted during the application in your personnel file for the purpose of the standard organizational and administrative process – while complying with further legal obligations, of course.
The legal basis for this processing is also Section 26 (1) sentence 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in conjunction with Art. 88 (1) of the GDPR.
In the event of a rejected application, we automatically delete the data transmitted to us two months after the notification of the rejection. However, the data will not be deleted if legal provisions, such as burden of proof obligations under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), require a longer storage period of up to four months or until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and Section 24 (1) No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in the defense against or enforcement of legal claims.
Provided you explicitly consent to a longer storage of your data, for example for your inclusion in an applicant or interested party database, the data will be further processed based on your consent. The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You may, of course, revoke your consent at any time pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR by declaring it to us with effect for the future.

Social media linking via graphic or text link
We also promote our presence on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration is achieved via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents an automatic connection to the respective social network's server from being established when a website featuring social media promotion is accessed in order to display a graphic of the network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic is the user redirected to the service of the respective social network.
After the user is redirected, information about the user is collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way may be processed in the USA.
Initially, these are data such as IP address, date, time, and page visited. If the user is logged into their user account of the respective network at the time, the network operator may be able to associate the collected information from the user's specific visit with the user's personal account. If the user interacts via a „share“ button of the respective network, this information can be saved in the user's personal user account and published if applicable. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being directly associated with their user account, they must log out before clicking the graphic. In addition, there is the option to configure the respective user account accordingly.

In the EU, this service is in turn operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland, hereinafter both referred to simply as „Facebook“.

If the plug-in is integrated on one of the pages of our website that you visit, your internet browser downloads a representation of the plug-in from Facebook's servers in the USA. Should you be logged in to Facebook while visiting one of our websites equipped with the plug-in, the information about your specific visit collected by the plug-in is recognized by Facebook. Facebook may assign the information collected in this way to your personal user account there. Therefore, if you use, for example, the so-called „Like“ button from Facebook, this information is stored in your Facebook user account and possibly published via the Facebook platform. If you wish to prevent this, you must either log out of Facebook before visiting our website or use an add-on for your internet browser to block the loading of the Facebook plug-in.
Further information on the collection and use of data, as well as your corresponding rights and privacy options, is provided by Facebook under
https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you are logged in to Twitter while visiting one of our websites equipped with the plug-in, the information about your specific visit collected by the plug-in is recognized by Twitter. Twitter may assign the information collected in this way to your personal user account there. Therefore, if you use Twitter's „Share“ button, for example, this information is saved in your Twitter user account and possibly published via the Twitter platform. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of Twitter before visiting our website or make the corresponding settings in your Twitter user account.

Google provides further information on the possible plug-ins and their respective functions at
https://developers.google.com/+/web/
ready for you.
If the plug-in is integrated on one of the pages of our website that you visit, your internet browser downloads a rendering of the plug-in from Google servers in the USA. For technical reasons, it is necessary for Google to process your IP address in the process. In addition, the date and time of the visit to our websites are also recorded.
If you are logged into Google while visiting one of our websites equipped with the plug-in, the information collected by the plug-in about your specific visit is recognized by Google. Google may associate the information collected in this way with your personal user account there. Therefore, if you use the so-called „Share“ button from Google, for example, this information will be saved in your Google user account and possibly published via Google's platform. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of Google before visiting our website or make the corresponding settings in your Google user account.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to simply as „Google“.
The Google Analytics service is used to analyze the usage behavior of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website.
Usage and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time, or frequency of visits to our website, is transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the so-called anonymization function. Due to this function, Google truncates the IP address within the EU or the EEA.
The data collected in this way is in turn used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of visits to our website and user activity there. This data can also be used to provide further services associated with the use of our website and the use of the Internet.
Google states that it does not connect your IP address with other data. Furthermore, Google keeps under

a so-called deactivation add-on along with further information on this. This add-on can be installed with common internet browsers and offers you further control over the data that Google collects when you visit our website. In this process, the add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about the visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, this does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analysis services. You will of course also find out whether and which other web analysis services are used by us in this privacy policy.
Google Maps
On our website, we use Google Maps to display our location and to create directions. This is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to simply as „Google“.
To enable the display of certain fonts on our website, a connection to the Google server in the USA is established when our website is accessed.
When you access the Google Maps component integrated into our website, Google stores a cookie on your device via your internet browser. Your user settings and data are processed in order to display our location and create route directions. In doing so, we cannot rule out the possibility that Google uses servers in the USA.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in optimizing the functionality of our website.
Through the connection to Google established in this way, Google can determine from which website your request was sent and to which IP address the directions are to be transmitted.
If you do not agree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the installation of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your internet browser. Details on this can be found above under the section „Cookies“.
In addition, the use of Google Maps and the information obtained via Google Maps is subject to the Google Terms of Use https://policies.google.com/terms?gl=DE&hl=de and the Terms of Service for Google Maps https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.

For the full-text search on the website, we use „Google Custom Search Engine“ („CSE“). „CSE“ is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as „Google“.
„CSE“ enables a full-text search for content on our website. Access to this search function is provided via a „Google Custom Search“ search box.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the user-friendliness of the website.
The function is integrated unchanged on our website as a Google software module.
When the search is activated by entering a search term, Google uses a plug-in to load the requested information. At the same time, the terms entered by the user and the user's IP address are transmitted to Google in order to execute the search and display the search results.
If the user is logged into their existing Google account at the time of the search, Google can associate the collected information with the corresponding user profile.

YouTube
On our website, we use YouTube. This is a video portal operated by YouTube LLC., 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, hereinafter referred to as „YouTube“.
YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter referred to as „Google“.
We use YouTube in conjunction with the „Enhanced Privacy Mode“ feature to be able to show you videos. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. According to YouTube, the „Enhanced Privacy Mode“ feature ensures that the data described in more detail below is only transmitted to the YouTube server if you actually start a video.
Without this „Enhanced Privacy Mode“, a connection to the YouTube server in the USA is established as soon as you visit one of our web pages that has an embedded YouTube video.
This connection is required to be able to display the respective video on our website via your internet browser. In the course of this, YouTube will at least collect and process your IP address, the date and time, and the website you visited. In addition, a connection is established to Google's „DoubleClick“ advertising network.
If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, YouTube will assign the connection information to your YouTube account. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of YouTube before visiting our website or make the appropriate settings in your YouTube user account.
For the purpose of functionality and the analysis of user behavior, YouTube permanently stores cookies on your device via your internet browser. If you do not agree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your internet browser settings. Further information on this can be found above under „Cookies“.

Some of the user data is processed on Vimeo servers in the USA.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website.
If you visit a page of our website that has a video embedded, a connection to Vimeo's servers in the USA is established to display the video. For technical reasons, it is necessary for Vimeo to process your IP address. In addition, the date and time of your visit to our website are also recorded.
If you are logged into Vimeo at the same time as visiting one of our websites that has an embedded Vimeo video, Vimeo may associate the information collected in this way with your personal user account there. If you wish to prevent this, you must either log out of Vimeo before visiting our website or configure your Vimeo user account accordingly.
For the purpose of functionality and usage analysis, Vimeo uses the web analytics service Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies stored on your device via your internet browser to send information about the use of our web pages—in which a Vimeo video is embedded—to Google. It cannot be ruled out that Google may process this information in the USA.
If you do not agree with this processing, you have the option to prevent the installation of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your internet browser. Details on this can be found above under the section „Cookies“.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website and in Vimeo's legitimate interest in statistically analyzing user behavior for optimization and marketing purposes.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our website.

If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, both Microsoft and we can recognize that you clicked on an advertisement placed by us on Bing and were redirected from there to our website.
